Bull City Bowlers Doubles
Rules:
  1. This tournament is open to all USBC certified members and shall operate under USBC Tournament Rules. All entrants will be required to show USBC 2007/2008-membership card at tournament check-in.
  2. Non-USBC members may enter the Tournament by paying an unattached membership fee of $21.00 ($10.00 National, $10.00 Local and $1.00 State).
  3. The tournament will begin the 2nd Saturday and will close the 2nd Sunday of each month @ 7:00pm. Additional squads may be added during the course of the tournament if lanes are available; however no squads will be added after the final squad on Sunday @ 7:00pm. The Closing date for each monthly tournament will be each Sunday the tournament runs @ 7:00.
  4. This is a doubles tournament with optional singles. Bowlers have the option of paying an entry fee of $60 ($30 doubles and $30 singles) and having his/her doubles score used as his/her single score. YOU CANNOT BOWL IN JUST THE SINGLES TOURNAMENT.
    1. Bowlers who re-enter the doubles event after exercising this option will have his/her doubles score applied to the singles event without an additional singles event entry fee.
    2. During a squad, a bowler may bowl with multiple partners at a reduced entry fee of $15 per partner
    3. Doubles may consist of a male and a female, two females or two males.
  5. The doubles tournament will consist of three games bowled on one pair of lanes with
    high scores for the weekend being declared the winner.
  6. Multiple entries in doubles events will be permitted.
    Bowlers may bowl as many times as they wish but can only cash once with the same partner.
  7. Handicap Ratio:
    Male bowlers handicap shall be 80% of the difference between their legal average and 200.
    Female bowlers handicap shall be 90% of the difference between their legal average and 200.
    Each bowler is limited to a maximum handicap of 45 pins when entering for the first time.
  8. All entrants must use the highest USBC 2007-2008 season yearbook average with a minimum of 21-games. If no book average, use highest current USBC sanctioned average based on a minimum of 21-games as of the start date of participation in this tournament. Participants without a yearbook average must present league-standing sheet or the average may be submitted in writing, from the league secretary based on 21 games to tournament director prior to bowling in this tournament with minimum of 21-games or will bowl scratch. If your current average is ten pins higher (21-games or higher) than your 2007-2008-yearbook average or present league-standing sheet average at time of participation tournament you must use the highest average.
  9. It shall be the Bowler's responsibility to inform the Tournament Directors if his or her average has been re-rated or adjusted. The re-rated and/or adjusted average will be used during the tournament. Failure to do so may result in a disqualification. Bowlers are responsible for verifying his/her average weather submitted by the bowler, the team or others. If the submitted average is lower than required and results in lower classification or more handicap, the bowlers scores are disqualified. (RULE 319a). There will be no refund of entry fee/fees upon DISQUALIFICATIONS.
  10. The Tournament Directors will assign all lanes. Only tournament official and bowlers will be permitted in the bowling area. All score changes must be approved by a tournament official. Tournament officials will record all scores.
    If no average; then bowlers must bowl scratch in accordance with Rule 319b. The tournament director has the authority to assign an average higher than the minimum average prior to participation.
  11. The tournament managers or directors reserve the right to reject any entry or re-rate any bowler. The decision of the tournament directors shall be final unless an appeal in accordance with rule 329, however if the re-rate average is not accepted
    by the bowler the entry fee shall be refunded (RULE 319c).
  12. Premature termination of the tournament brought about by war, national emergency or emergency causes relating thereto or therefrom, fire, natural disaster or any other reason beyond the control of the (Bull City Bowlers) shall cause, to the extent required thereby, all advertised prizes, guaranteed or otherwise, to be prorated in accordance with the number of entrants who have bowled in each of the respective events up to the time of such termination.
  13. ENTRY FEES: Double events, $30.00 per person, $16.27 prize fund, $13.73 expense fees; Singles $30.00 per person, $30.00 Prize funds.
    All Prize fees will be returned 100% in each category.
    1. The payoffs will be immediately following the 7:00 squad on Sunday providing there is no issues relating to bowlers averages or within 30 days after the tournament ends.
  14. USBC Rule 319a (Average adjustment requirements the 10 pin rule) will apply.
    USBC Rule 319e (Average adjustment requirements the 15 pin rule) will not apply
    to participants.
  15. High male and female scratch game and series on Saturday will win $30.00.
    All participants of this tournament who do not cash will receive one plus pin per entry.
  16. 1st place winners of each event will lose 5 pins, 2nd place winners of each event
    will lose 4 pins and 3rd place will lose 3 pins and 4th places will lose 2 pin as long as cash awards are received.
  17. Contestants with 20 or more entries in the bull city monthly tournament by the end of June will be eligible to participate in the Bull City annual invitational yearend tournament in July. Time, dates, and prize fund to be announced at a later date.
  18. Checks are accepted but there is a $30.00 service charge for all return checks.

  • NO SQUAD WILL BE ADDED AFTER THE FINAL SQUAD @ 7:00 SUNDAY



* WIN $30.00 FOR HIGH SCRATCH GAME AND HIGH SCRATCH SERIES FOR MALE AND FEMALE ON SATURDAY ONLY

* All participants of this tournament who do not cash will receive one plus pin per entry with a maximum of 20 plus pins.
